- at the farm level and its immediate surroundings
We are interested in joining a consortium,
Our expertise focuses on the following sub-themes of Theme 1-Enhancing agroecology at the farm level (Manage soil-water, reduce erosion, carbon storage, optimise nutrient cycles, reduce the use of chemicals, promote crop diversification etc.
Further we could envisage joining a consortium focusing on Theme 2 - Enhancing agroecology at the farm level with a focus on enhancing ecosystem services, full scale assessments of sustainability based on indicators, tracking the agroeclogical transformation with digital tools as well as with UAVs etc.
Agroscope is the Swiss centre of excellence for agricultural research, and is affiliated with the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG). Agroscope makes an important contribution to a sustainable agriculture and food sector as well as to an intact environment, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life.
Agroscope researches along the entire value chain of the agriculture and the food sector. Its goals are a competitive and multifunctional agricultural sector, high-quality food for a healthy diet, and an intact environment. In pursuing these aims, the research institute gears itself to the needs of its service recipients.
The research division Agroecology & Enviroment has long standing expertise in assessing the climate footprint of agricultural practices and providing climate projections for crop cultures under ongoing climate change. Further expertise are assessements of soil health (soil physics, soil chemistry and soil biology), quantification of nutrient flows and protection of surface waters, plant soil interaction, biodiversity (protection, promotion and use) and holistic agroecological assessments from farm to landscape scale based on in-dept researched sustainability indicators.
