nature based solutions, arthropod biodiversity, soil health, fruit tree crops ecosystem services and socio-economic evaluation
- at the farm level and its immediate surroundings
We offer a partnership for the call consisting of two Spanish institutions: the Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (IFAPA) and the University of Granada (Andalusia, Spain). Our collective expertise centers on the evaluation of biodiversity, particularly arthropod diversity, and the ecosystem services they provide, mainly biological control through conservation efforts. Additionally, we specialize in analyzing the impacts of semi-natural habitats (SNHs) on this vital ecosystem service. We also are able to evaluate soil health. Recognizing the importance of conducting socioeconomic evaluations of nature-based solutions and involving farmers and stakeholders in decision-making processes, we have cultivated a diverse network of stakeholders that may be included in the proposal as well as a socio-economist in our research group. Although our research has traditionally centered on olive, we can extend our methodologies to encompass other fruit and nut crops such as almond, vineyards, citrus, and subtropical tree crops.
Our research group "Applied ecology and agroecosystems" consists of two Spanish public institutions: the Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (IFAPA) and the University of Granada (Andalusia, Spain).
