We are interested in finding partners to implement eco-food systems to increase the amount of food agriculturally produced in the EU together with the ability to reshape the landscape accordingly with its historic tradition. In this way, we would like to rebuild the landscape where our farm is located (Province of Flanders, Belgium) at the same time as make the landscape more sustainable to be able to face the upcoming climate challenges. Additionally, we are very interested in finding a new approach to agriculture that could increase the eco-services provided by agricultural activities to our region. Heirbaut ALgriculture has been active in agriculture and dairy for many decades. The farm of the company is a short-supply dairy products formulator and is the only company in Belgium producing chlorella (a microalgae strain) and innovative food with chlorella as an ingredient. We count on a photobioreactor where we cultivate chlorella to increase our carbon sequestration and propel the much-needed protein shift in the food market. Furthermore, the algae biomass enables us to create innovative food with dairy and chlorella that we trade in our e-commerce platform. We have been active in carbon farming and innovative crop rotation. In the last years, we have implemented nature-based solutions for floods and droughts. in this way, we are always looking for new techniques and innovations to implement on our farm.
