We, as IDU CRP team, at the department of city and regional planning, are a core urban food planning laboratory group. I, as the coordinator of the group have coordinated and coordinated a number of research projects on topics of urban living labs, urban refugees, citizen science, regional landscape, rural planning, urban food planning and agroecological urbanism. Currently, we are part of the urban food planning project, FUSILLI, which is funded by H2020 programme and have been implemented in 12 European cities (https://fusilli-project.eu/).
Most recently, I have been consulting a number of local governments' food system and rural planning in Turkey. I have completed the coordination of Karşıyaka Urban Food Strategy in İzmir.
İzmir Democracy University is a state university founded in 2016 in İzmir, Turkey. The University hosts 43 undergraduate programmes within 10 faculties and, 54 master’s and 30 PhD programmes within 3 institutes (Natural Sciences, Health Sciences and Social Sciences). There are ten Research and Innovation Centres performing research and innovation projects and implementations.
