Sintropico is looking for academic and scientific bilateral or consortia collaboration on agro-biodiversity, nature-based solutions (NBS), syntropic farming and other agro-ecology approaches. Special interest in subtropical and tropical fruit production and agroforestry practices. Particularly interested in exchanges on challenges and solutions for the Macaronesia bioregion and other island contexts and subtropical regions of the world.

Sintropico manages Vale da Fonte, a botanical collection located on the Azorean island of Pico, with over 1000 edible cultivars, one of the largest open air tropical fruit collection in Europe. Vale da Fonte intends to promote agro-biodiversity, nature-based solutions (NBS), syntropic farming and other agro-ecology approaches, as well as ecosystem restoration.
