We are keen on contributing with our historical knowledge of the Walloon agrifood sector and deep connections with its actors.

Sytra is a research team at the Université Catholique de Louvain specializing in studies and analyses of the agri-food sectors and their transition towards fair and sustainable systems.

Our research focuses on agricultural production methods, agri-food systems and transition trajectories. In particular, our work focuses on :
- Characterizing agricultural and livestock production methods: from their practices to the systems in which they operate,
- Establishing prospective scenarios: these scenarios can be used to define and support a transition in agricultural and food systems,
- Establish the bottlenecks in these transition scenarios, enabling the identification of courses of action to remove these obstacles and achieve the transition objectives.
