- at the landscape or territorial level
We propose a cooperation to work on peri-urban areas to increment the agrobiodiversity near major European cities in order to feed the cities in a sustainable way.
Our strenghts:
- Living Lab creation;
- Facilitation of decision-making processes for developing strategies at the landscape and supply chain levels (experience in the framework of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact);
-Mapping of good agroecological practices;
-Methodologies for impact assessment (OASIS, biodiversity index, etc...).
ACRA is a non-governmental, secular and independent organisation, founded in Milan in 1968 and committed for over fifty years to international cooperation , the protection of human rights and the fight against poverty and inequalities. Our work aims to facilitate the agroecological transition of food production, distribution and consumption systems in the various countries in which we operate, from Africa, to Latin America, to Europe. ACRA co-created, together with other NGOs and networks of Italian and European civil society, Azione TerrAE - Coalition for the agroecological transition. ACRA supports and promotes advocacy actions on food policies at local, national and international levels. Since 2015, ACRA has supported the MUFPP (Milan Urban Food Policy Pact) and supports the cities with which it works so that they join it, adopt sustainable urban policies , establish dedicated government bodies and encourage the participation of civil society in decision-making processes related to policies food.
Within the framework of the Pact, local authorities and national and international actors collaborate to identify strategies that affect local food systems and strengthen territorial cohesion between cities and surrounding rural regions .
