indicateurs, practices, nutritional value, measurement, soil quality, soil life
- at the farm level and its immediate surroundings
We are interested in projects related to the three following topics:
- indicators: to evaluate the agroecological practices at farm-level and elaborate improvement and implementation strategies based on the result
- practices: definition of agroecological trajectories and related practices: based on the territory, the farm characteristics and the type of culture, what are the recommended practices?
- nutritional value: test and demonstrate the link between the soil quality and the micronutritional value (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, ...) of the food
The main objective of The House of Agroecology (HoA) is to accelerate the agroecological transition in Belgium by focusing on four main axes:
1° Transform and develop food chains towards agroecology
2° Consolidate a hub of expertise around agroecology
3° Connect the actors of agroecology and sectors
4° Inform and raise citizens’ awareness of the issues and promote production from agroecology
By accelerating the agroecological transition, HoA promotes sustainable agriculture and food systems that improve food security and nutrition. Its aim is also to engage in the fight against climate change and to ensure the preservation or improvement of ecosystems and biodiversity, the reduction of environmental pollution and the improvement of environmental quality.
The House of Agroecology (HoA) is a trusted reference/third party organization that enhances the credibility and reach of the entire agri-food sector (farmers, storers, processors, distributors, restaurateurs, technical & scientific research partners) by offering unified communication, common and validated scientific bases, a set of shared tools, a link for exchanging and sharing practices and knowledge for all players in agroecology as well as concrete, operational and innovative actions without replace existing players.
