- at the farm level and its immediate surroundings
RISE Agriculture and Food work broadly with primarily applied science, close to end-users and stakeholders (e.g. farmers, advisors, machine producers, retailers, food and biomaterial companies). Thus, we are interested in cooperating in projects that have a strong practical focus and that work both to improve the position of farmers and the sustainability and resilience of the food system. It is especially interesting with projects that can utilize our newly granted living lab on soil health and/or our testbed for digitalized agriculture, but we have a wide range of expertise and interests.
Please note that Sweden has a relatively large share in the call (2.5 MEURO), which means Swedish partners have a high chance to receive sufficient funding within the call.
RISE is a large research institute with 3000+ employees divided among five divisions (Bioeconomy and Health, Digital Systems, Material and Production, Built Environment, and Safety and Transports), 120+ testbeds and a large number of labs and other research infrastructure. The institute’s expertise thus cover a very diverse range, e.g. agriculture, food science, regional transformation, health, education, environmental surveillance, AI, digitalisation, remote sensing, IT, materials, autonomous vehicles, social sustainability, business models. At RISE Agriculture and Food we work with all aspects of food production from Farm to Fork – from primary production and post-harvest processes to food packaging, water management, food processing, biodiversity, environmental assessments and the digitalization of agriculture. We work primarily with applied science, close to end-users and stakeholders (e.g. farmers, advisors, machine producers, retailers, food and biomaterial companies). We have a recently granted living lab on soil health and a testbed on digitalized agriculture. Any competence we are missing we can easily complemented by expertise from other parts of RISE.
