- at the landscape or territorial level
DLG supports and facilitates the transformation of agri-food systems in Europe and beyond aiming to enhance their sustainability and resilience. Thus, agroecological practices, related digital systems, ESG related assessments, and legal frameworks are an integral part of our daily work, which is also reflected in our research and development projects as well as expert committees:
- Biodiversity conservation and sustainable management practices: improve their effectivity and efficiency while simplifying their implementation (as in ConservES and KOMBI)
- Development and validation of a minimum set of criteria to assess sustainability of arable farming systems, dairy and pig farming (MinKriSet)
- Improve Biodiversity monitoring by developing, assessing and implementing new and existing indices and technologies (as in BioMonitor4CAP)
- Assessing and implementing new and existing digitalization tools supporting sustainable practices (as in D4AgEcol)
- Digitalization to optimize the management of agroforestry systems and the utilization of their biomasses within multiple value chains (SMART Agroforst)
- Biodiversity conservation as a new business branch for farmers (as in KOMBI)
- Expert committees covering a wide range of agricultural topics, including organic farming, rural development plant production, husbandry, food systems, digitalization, farm economics, and international cooperation.
Based on the DLG’s expertise and scopes we are interested in dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities supporting knowledge development, its exchange, and piloting/demonstration/exploitation of results referring to the above mentioned topics and beyond.
The DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) is a farmers based German agricultural organization with a rich history focused on advancing agricultural practices. While traditionally associated with conventional, high-yield farming, the DLG has increasingly recognized the importance of sustainability and is incorporating agroecological principles into its work. Through research, knowledge transfer, and policy influence, the DLG is playing a role in shaping the future of agriculture towards more environmentally friendly and resilient systems.
