Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and identify best practices
CISAS is a research centre from the Polytechnic University of Viana do Castelo in Northern Portugal. We are a team of 80+ scientists covering all aspects of the food chain, from farm to fork. We are interested in entering a consortium aiming to develop a project proposal on topic 1 of this call: Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and
identify best practices, in any of the Themes: 1. Methods and procedures to tackle trade-offs in agroecological production; or 2. Scenario analysis to identify and support the most suitable options to accelerate the adoption of the identified best practices at different spatial and temporal scales.
CISAS-IPVC is a research center with 80+scientists covering the entire food chain: agronomists, zootechnitians, veterinaries, soil scientists, water scientists, biologists, ecologists, microbiologists, social scientists, geographers, and many others.
We are fully equipped with labs for chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, food technology, plant technology, and we have an experimental kitchen, sensory analysis lab, a pilot winery, and pilot-scale post-harvest facility. We also have an experimental farm with orchards, vineyards, crop fields and a zootechnical station. Please visit us at https://cisas.ipvc.pt/ for further details.
