Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and identify best practices
We want to join a consortium in which our role is to carry out field experiments on different agricultural and horticultural crops with new biofertilizers and biopesticides, improving saline soils, circular bioeconomy, making different types and mixtures of animal feed, conservation natural resources of soil and water, the multiplication of seeds of different species, etc. The research station manages 2657 hectares, in 7 locations with different pedoclimatic conditions, where varieties from a multitude of agricultural and horticultural species are tested, as well as different types of biofertilizers and biopesticides, to preserve natural soil and water resources. There are 5 laboratories for agrochemical analysis of soil, water and plants, one of which is for circular bioeconomy.
SCDA Brăila represents a Romanian center of excellence in scientific research in the field of agriculture, with over 70 years of experience, being part of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (ASAS), subordinate in turn to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR).
The resort's activities include agricultural research and development of sustainable agricultural technologies, selection and breeding of agricultural plants, as well as environmental protection in a circular bioeconomy perspective.
SCDA Brăila has modern infrastructure for research, including soil, water and plant analysis laboratories, a greenhouse for experiments, seven research centers and a seed multiplication sector. It is a key player in the application of conservation technologies, improvement of saline soils, rice improvement, seed multiplication and agricultural digitization technologies.
