Enhancing the genetic diversity and variability of crops and livestock for the agroecological transition
My research focuses primarily on the regulation of iron homeostasis under varying iron and pH conditions, as iron availability in soils is strongly influenced by pH. The research group led by Prof. Petra Bauer is already investigating these processes in Arabidopsis thaliana. I have now initiated a project using blue (narrow-leafed) lupine (Lupinus angustifolius). I am investigating the effects in bitter and sweet lupine including one potentially alkalitolerant line. I am looking for a consortium with similar research questions. My and the groups expertises are: hydroponic cultures, phenotyping, plant physiology, gene expression analysis, transcription factors, protein analysis with focus on plasma membrane proteins.
