Strengthening farmers’ involvement and empowerment in the transition towards agroecology
>> Project Proposal: "Goats for Smiling Pastures"
We are seeking partners to join or lead a consortium for our project focused on Natural Pasture Improvement and Resilient Livestock Management.
• Topic 1 Alignment: We aim to utilize Saanen x Kıl crossbreed goats, genotypes specifically adapted to our local environmental conditions, to enhance resilience and livestock performance in degraded pasture areas.
• Topic 2 Alignment: Our project centers on Farmer Empowerment through a vocational training program for 30 citizens, focusing on herd management, fodder production (Vetch, Triticale, Oat), and collective action through local cooperatives.
• Pasture Restoration: The project employs natural grazing methods to combat invasive species and restore biodiversity in the Gölyazı and Çaylı regions.

We are looking for Research Performing Organizations (RPOs) and other Living Labs specializing in:
• Animal genomics and phenotypic characterization of resilient breeds.
• Agroecological pasture management and soil health biodiversity.
• Social innovation and digital decision-support tools for small-scale farmers.
