Enhancing the genetic diversity and variability of crops and livestock for the agroecological transition
We coordinate the BiodivRural Living Lab and the Research Infrastructure Estación Experimental Aprisco, both recognised by the Agroecology Partnership. We work on ecosystem services of legumes and the conservation and use of crop wild relatives in agriculture. We host a genetic reserve of crop wild relatives created as part of the COUSIN project. Our interests are in breeding for Intercropping and breeding for diversified pasture systems, including perennial grasses, and pit a lot of emphasis in stakeholder engagement, co-creation and knowledge transfer.
Aprisco is a non-profit association dedicated to research and dissemination in agroecology in the north of Extremadura, Spain.
