Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and identify best practices
We are interested in Topic 1 only, but both identified themes according to the Call. We are keen to collaborate especially in (by no means exhaustive):
• Defining and testing models for performing environmental, social and economic analyses of positive/negative impacts of agroecological approaches in comparison to conventional practices
• Generating knowledge/evidence on the contribution of agroecology to the economic sustainability and viability at farm community level
• Contributing to the construction of different scenarios related to identify the long-term ecological and socio-economic implications of agroecological transitions
Milvus Group Association is a Romanian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nature conservation. Milvus Group was established in 1991 and worked initially as a branch of the Romanian Ornithological Society (BirdLife Romania). Initiating and co-ordinating national and international projects and broadening its area of work, it became an independent organisation in 2001. Our programs are scientifically based, co- ordinated by specialised personnel (many of our members are biologists, PhD students, students at biology and ecology faculties), with the involvement of volunteers. Milvus Group runs research, consultancy and educational projects and programmes to make Romania a better place for wild animals and humans alike. Inspired by the delicate balance of nature, we strive to protect our planet’s precious heritage. We are committed to safeguarding endangered species, educating future generations, and advocating for policies that prioritize environmental sustainability. By combining scientific expertise with unwavering perseverance, we aim to create a world where humanity and nature coexist harmoniously. The link between biodiversity and agriculture is an issue Milvus Group has been tackling for a long time. Milvus Group designed agri-environment scheme proposals for the Romanian Ministry of Environment and has also been implementing projects with farmers. Milvus Group is highly interested in helping Romanian grasslands and other fields used for agriculture become more suitable for wildlife by taking into account the needs of both nature and farmers.
