solar energy, agriPV, drying agricultural remains or products
Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and identify best practices
Agri-photovoltaic (agriPV) systems, where solar photovoltaics (PV) and agriculture are co-located on the same plot of land, offer a sustainable approach to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enabling simultaneous renewable and agri-food electricity production, with trade-offs and co-benefits for food security, energy generation and emissions mitigation.
I am a senior research in solar energy systems and actually i am focused in the application of solar system in agriculture. These application could be in the production simultaneus of electricitry and agriculture products, or drying the agriculture products or remains products. Drying the remains of tree pruning to use them as fuel, and thus become a useful product, promoting the circular economy.
INEGI - Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Porto is an industry-oriented RTO with research activity in the areas of new technologies for advanced production processes, experimental mechanics, applied mechanics, energy, new materials and the development of new products and systems. INEGI’s research activity is integrated in the national network of research founded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. It is considered one of the most effective national RTOs in transforming R&D investment in economic and social value, with more than 50% of its total turnover of 10 million euros comes from R&D and innovation projects founded by the industry. INEGI has more than 100 associate members, and a workforce of about 250 people, including more than 120 PhD researchers, being the largest research group in the Mechanical Engineering Field in Portugal. INEGI’s research infrastructure includes a broad set of well-equipped laboratories and an extensive engineering tools base for supporting its R&D activity as well as the production of industrial or commercial prototypes. INEGI is actively participating in several national and international expert panels, consulting committees, groups and societies, industry clusters (automotive, aeronautics, tooling, additive manufacturing, sea economy and energy).
