Enhancing the genetic diversity and variability of crops and livestock for the agroecological transition
We seek collaboration in agroecology-focused research, specifically multi-species grassland studies, grass–legume mixtures, biodiversity-driven productivity, forage quality assessments, nitrogen fixation and reduced fertilizer use, drought resilience, and sustainable dairy-feed systems. Open for joint proposals, field experiment work packages, data exchange and cross-country case studies.
The Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC) is the largest agricultural research organisation in Lithuania, conducting fundamental and applied research to support sustainable farming, environmental protection and food systems resilience. Our expertise covers agroecology, soil health, carbon sequestration, grassland biodiversity, multi-species swards, forage quality, livestock feeding strategies, crop resilience to climate stress, and remote sensing-based monitoring.
LAMMC operates long-term field experiments, ecological farms, modern laboratories for chemical analyses, and drone-based hyperspectral monitoring platforms. The Institute actively participates in Horizon, EJP Soil, Agroecology partnerships and international multi-actor projects, cooperates with farmers and advisory services, and contributes to policy recommendations at the national and EU level.
We are open to joining project consortia as research partners, case-study hosts, field trial implementers or data providers, focusing on agroecological transitions, grassland-based dairy systems and sustainable feed production.
