Motivation to Join a Consortium
Elicit Plant is looking for Horizon Europe collaborations that accelerate:
• Climate adaptation of cropping systems by enhancing plant adaptative mechanisms
• Transition towards more sustainable agriculture (optimization of water resources, reduction of chemical inputs, etc.)
• Sustainable, low-carbon farming systems
• Help support farmers in adopting solutions that have less impact on the environment
• Scientific and technical validation of the performance of innovative biosolutions
• Demonstration of the efficacy and performance of innovative solutions under real conditions in varied European environments
• Responsible use of agricultural products, allowed by robust decision-making tools
Elicit Plant is an innovative biotech company pioneering the use of phytosterols (natural plant compounds with essential physiological roles) to improve crop resilience under water stress and climate-related constraints. Since 2018, the company has focused on leveraging these molecules to develop scientifically validated biostimulants that trigger deep physiological modulation in plants. Extensive research, including three PhD programs and multiple collaborations with leading academic institutes, has elucidated the mechanisms of phytosterol penetration and action. Unlike traditional biostimulants, Elicit Plant’s solutions act as adaptive signaling molecules, inducing systemic and lasting responses that optimize plant water management and other stress-response molecular and physiological mechanisms. The performance of Elicit Plant’s phytosterol-based solutions has already been proven on a dozen of crops thanks to extensive research and strong field-testing network across Europe and South America. This innovation addresses past shortcomings in the biostimulant market by providing clear mechanisms of action and measurable outcomes. The company holds 12 patent families across 40 countries, with 19 patents granted, and has secured regulatory approvals for 10 products in 41 countries. Today, Elicit Plant operates in 16 countries on 3 continents, offering solutions for four major crops. Positioned at the intersection of biostimulation and adaptive signaling, Elicit Plant is driving a new generation of biological solutions that combine scientific rigor, economic impact, and agricultural sustainability.
