Strengthening farmers’ involvement and empowerment in the transition towards agroecology
We would be interested in carrying out networking activities, discussions, and workshops with farmers that support knowledge exchange and structure and meaningfully provide information on sustainable agri-food systems.
At the Institute of Landscape Ecology we investigate relationships within the ecosystem compartments of a landscape and the sustainable development in the wake of changes in land use and global processes. In agroecology, we consider the entire food system, including the economic framework, human-nature relations and ongoing discourses. Questions of knowledge integration, education, smallholder agriculture and food sovereignty and circular economy are emphasized.
Research at our institute is internationally oriented. Global environmental changes, biodiversity loss, borders of ecosystems, regional processes, and migration. We collaborate closely with many universities and with public and private organizations within and outside Europe.
