Strengthening farmers’ involvement and empowerment in the transition towards agroecology
Gazi Tarım aims to bridge the rural areas of Osmangazi district with the city in agricultural terms, working with 136 villages located in both mountainous and plain areas. Through the Hamidiye High School within its structure, Gazi Tarım integrates students into greenhouse cultivation and agricultural activities, and the produce is served to the public as meals within the school and at a municipal public restaurant belonging to the Osmangazi Municipality.
Additionally, Gazi Tarım focuses on biodiversity in seeds through its seed library. One of the key goals of Gazi Tarım is to reduce pesticide use in production to zero.
