Strengthening farmers’ involvement and empowerment in the transition towards agroecology
The Institute of Movement Sciences (ISM) at Aix-Marseille University is motivated to join consortia interested in studying how to create sustainable work conditions associated agroecological practices, especially to reduce risk of musculoskeletal disorders such as lowback pain.
The ISM is expert in movement analysis and could contribute by proposing means of quantifying biomechanical workload through on-field measurements using wearable sensors, observations or questionnaires.
The ISM has also an emergent theme about assistive technology to reduce musculoskeletal pain and the potential contribution of low-tech approaches to this aim.
The Institute of Movement Sciences (ISM) is a research laboratory affiliated to both Aix-Marseille University (amU) and the French National Scientific Research Centre (CNRS) with an expertise on elaborating multidisciplinary approaches to study human and animal movement.
These multidisciplinary approaches are built by combining skills and researches around three themes :
- Biomechanics & bioengineering (BMI) studying structural elements implicated in movements and force production
** Benjamin Goislard de Monsabert (contact) works in this theme
- Behavioral dynamics and cognition (DynamiCC) addressing sensorimotor, cognitive and physiological processes
- Bioinspired systems (SBI) using bioinsipiration as a tool to design and control systems in motion
