Strengthening farmers’ involvement and empowerment in the transition towards agroecology
I would be keen to cooperate on work packages focused on farmers’ involvement, empowerment and governance in agroecology transitions, integrating Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to quantify environmental and social impacts and guide decision-making. Building on my background in applied research and field-based analysis, I can contribute to: (i) stakeholder mapping and facilitation of collaboration between farmers, advisors, researchers and local authorities; (ii) co-design of participatory processes and farmer-led experimentation (living labs, innovation platforms, peer-to-peer learning); (iii) analysis of organisational, behavioural and economic barriers/enablers to adoption, including gender and generational dimensions where relevant; (iv) development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure empowerment and transition outcomes; and (v) application of LCA (and scenario modelling) to compare agroecological practices, identify hotspots, and manage trade-offs, producing clear, farmer-friendly outputs that support uptake and scaling. My goal would be to generate actionable tools that help farmer organisations and territories drive and sustain agroecological change and with also a circular perspective.
